Spain Cultural Immersion & Adventure

Live and learn alongside families in Barcelona and Catalonia, working with a local NGO serving disabled, orphaned, migrant, and elderly populations, before heading into the Pyrenees to trek and bike from yurt to yurt. From there, make your way to the Costa Brava coast to snorkel, kayak to hidden coves, and visit the Salvador Dalí Museum.

Itinerary

Day 1

Meet with your group to depart for Barcelona, Spain.

Days 2-3

Arrive in Barcelona and spend the day on a guided tour of the city, paired with team building activities to kick off the trip together.

Days 3-4

Spend your mornings working alongside Lurpa, a Barcelona-based NGO that partners with disabled, orphaned, migrant, and elderly populations in the region. You'll take part in activities designed and led by Lurpa's team, building real connections with the local community. Afternoons are yours to explore the city, getting to know Barcelona's neighborhoods.

Days 5-8

Head into the Pyrenees for a multi-day trek, staying overnight in yurts along the way, paired with guided road and gravel bike tours through the mountains.

Days 9-11
Travel to the Costa Brava for a stretch of coastal exploration: snorkeling and kayaking to hidden, turquoise-water coves, a visit to the Salvador Dalí Museum, and a ropes course.
Days 12-13
Return to Barcelona for one last night together before flying home.
Day 14
Arrive home.
Potential coastal extensions (in place of Days 9-11 above):
 

  • Mallorca (30-minute flight from Barcelona): hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, and a marine conservation presentation.

  • Canary Islands (~3.5-hour flight from Barcelona): hiking, snorkeling, a marine conservation presentation, and two surf lessons.
